Happy Thanksgiving from the RDS Team

We all have our own unique holiday traditions. And the folks here at RDS Team, your headquarters for a full range of digital printing solutions – from short-term rental copy machines and long-term leases on multifunction printers, are no exception.

For some of our printer leasing experts, if that green bean casserole made with cream of mushroom soup and topped with French-fried onions isn’t on the table, then it just isn’t Thanksgiving. Some will be putting an apple pie in the oven; some will be serving pumpkin pie and still others are planning on pecan pie.

We all have one thing in common, though. We are all thankful for the relationships we share with the clients who lease copiers and rent printers from us in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, as well as various points in between.

We hope all of you are looking forward to gathering with friends and family for this wonderful American holiday. And we thought you might enjoy a little Thanksgiving trivia to share as you pass the green bean casserole.

  • “It's no secret that turkey is a Thanksgiving staple. However, it's unlikely that it made an appearance at the first feast. Instead, the Wampanoag Indians would have brought lobsters, deer meat, clams, and eels,” Country Living tells us. “Coming from Europe, the pilgrims wouldn't have eaten turkey either and would have opted for duck or goose. Turkey actually wasn't popularized until the 19th century when it was recognized as an affordable source of protein that could feed a larger crowd.”
  • Country Living also dished on the history of some of our favorite Thanksgiving side dishes. “If you love your cranberry sauce and sweet potatoes, you probably wouldn't have enjoyed attending the first Thanksgiving,” they say. “The reason? Cranberry sauce wasn't invented until 50 years after the first feast and sweet potatoes were just starting to make an appearance in America.”

Just one more thing to be thankful for when you sit down to enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner this year! Best wishes for the holiday from all of us at The RDS Team, your printer/scanner/copier leasing headquarters.
