RDS TALKS 1.2 – Why RDS Team Is Passionate About Serving Clients

In the first episode of RDS Talks, Gustavo and Allan talked about their RDS Team’s mission. Following the next episode still, with host Jack Hakimian, Gustavo was asked about his motivation in starting his own company.

At the end of the videocast, he also gave an inspirational and motivational tip for younger entrepreneurs who want to have their startup someday.  

RDS Team is a Miami-based company that first operated as a premier source for multi-functional copiers and printers. They also offer workspace innovations with two objectives: help reduce costs and expenses and improve business performance. Including in their services are workflow solutions, office printing services, and imaging facilities. But, who is behind all this success? Meet Gustavo Hermida.

Gustavo has been in the digital printing industry for over 25 years now. He first started as a Sales Manager for Ricoh Corporation in New York City. His management positions experience continued further, such as becoming the Vice President of Sales at Nur Macro, now known as HP. 

When asked about his motivation, Gustavo said, “In 2010, I decided to take a risk, cash in my 401k, and I opened this and now you see what I had to bring if my foundation was bringing value. If I could bring value, understand what people would inquire in customer service, that is a good for me to start with.” Jack also asked whether he knew that RDS Team will be the company they are today, which Gustavo responded to, “…we addressed in the right market and grow in to the point in 2018, we were recognized in America as one of the fastest-growing companies by the Inked Magazine and that actually feels a good joy.” 

Gustavo started working fresh out of college back in 1982, mainly in sales and management. These opportunities led him to know what to do and what to avoid. Even though he is not as young as he is, he is still venturing into bringing more services in the market that are worth value. In his own words, “I am not as young as I used to be, but there is plenty of energy.

He also gave an uplifting message to young entrepreneurs who ought to do the same ways as him. “…if you’re passionate about what you do and you convey that in your actions, people will see that and the right people will give you the right opportunity…” One tip that he suggests is building relationships, business relationships, to make connections and explore a wider field. “In a business relation, when you bring and you put yourself in the other person’s shoes and you try to make a decision that is going to be as good as the decision that you would make,” Gustavo said. In conclusion, Gustavo summarized it as doing things with sincerity to build a foundation for success.
