Copier Repair Across Florida

When a copier stops, something with a deadline attached usually stops with it. RDS Team repairs
copiers, multifunction printers and wide-format devices across Florida, with a contractual four-hour
on-site response and our own technicians rather than a subcontracted service company. Most of the
machines we are called out to were sold by somebody else.

A Four-Hour Response, In Writing

Most dealers quote a response time as an average, which is another way of saying that half their
customers wait longer. Ours is a guaranteed four-hour on-site response written into the service
agreement. That distinction only matters on the day it matters, which is exactly why it belongs in
the contract rather than in the sales pitch.

If We Cannot Fix It, We Replace It

This is the commitment we are most often asked to repeat, because no one else in this market
makes it. If a machine under contract cannot be repaired, we replace it. You are never left
negotiating with us about whether a dead copier is your problem or ours — the answer is
already settled before it happens.

We Service Equipment We Did Not Sell

You do not need to have bought the machine from us. We regularly take over maintenance of
equipment placed by other dealers, and a large share of our service base arrived after one bad month
of response times somewhere else. We are an authorized dealer for
Ricoh,
Epson,
Brother,
Canon and
HP, and our technicians also work on Kyocera,
Sharp, Xerox, Konica Minolta and Toshiba.

What We Are Usually Called Out For

  • Streaks, banding and smudging. Normally a drum, fuser or charge roller reaching
the end of its life. Cheap to deal with early, expensive once it takes the imaging unit with it.
  • Error codes and lock-ups. Have the code ready when you call. It tells us what
to put on the van, which is why most of these close on the first visit.
  • Scan-to-email and network failures. Very often nothing to do with the copier at
all — expired credentials, an SMTP or authentication change, or a new firewall rule.
  • Fuser and heat faults. The most common reason a machine dies outright, and the
reason a warm-up-free device is worth a look when you are replacing one.
  • Feeder and document-handler problems. Double feeds and skewed scans, which hurt
most in the offices that scan all day.

How We Work

Our technicians are RDS employees who have done this for years, not whoever happened to be
nearest. Common failure parts travel on the van, so the majority of calls are closed on the first
visit instead of being booked for a second. And if a machine is genuinely not worth repairing, we
say so and show you the numbers rather than billing for a fix that buys three months.

Service Contract or Per Call

Both are fine. A service agreement lowers your cost per page and locks in the four-hour response
and the replacement guarantee. Per-call work suits businesses with one machine and light volume. We
will tell you which of the two is actually cheaper for your page counts, even when it is the one
that bills us less.

Repairing or Replacing?

Sometimes the arithmetic says replace. If that is where you land, see
copier leasing for terms and starting prices, or a
short-term rental to keep working while you
decide.

More Than One Machine?

Where several devices are involved, managed print services covers service and supplies across the whole estate under the same four-hour response.

Common Questions

Do you repair copiers you did not sell? Yes, and a good share of our service base came to us that way. Our technicians work on Ricoh, Epson, Brother, Canon, HP, Kyocera, Sharp, Xerox, Konica Minolta and Toshiba equipment regardless of which dealer placed it.

How fast will someone actually arrive? A guaranteed four-hour on-site response, written into the service agreement rather than quoted as an average. It is a commitment, not an aspiration.

Do I need a service contract? No. Plenty of our work is per call. A contract lowers your cost per page if you use us regularly, but we will come out either way.

What if the machine cannot be repaired? If a machine under contract cannot be repaired, we replace it. You are never left running a business around a dead copier.

Is my copier worth repairing? We will tell you honestly. We inspect it, price the repair against what a replacement costs over the same term, and show you the arithmetic instead of steering you toward a sale.

What should I have ready when I call? The make, model and any error code on the display. The code tells us what to bring, which is how most calls get closed on the first visit.

Worth Reading

Two that come up constantly: why a copier streaks reads the fault from the pattern on the page and tells you what to have ready when you call, and what to look for in a service contract explains why a written response time matters more than an advertised average.
